Yaxley Bowls

What a start to the season we are having. All our teams: The Kites, Falcons, Eagles, Sharks, and Seals, are up and running with wins all round. Only the Hurricanes lost, and we’ll forgive them that as they were playing against another Yaxley team.   Midweek Premier league with 10-0 and 9-1 wins. Yaxley Sharks tops the Saturday Premier league with 3 wins out of 3. Let’s hope the good form continues throughout the season.  At the start of the season and hopefully at the end, many of our members are involved in the County knock-out competitions, both Bowls Federation and Bowls Association. We wish them all luck and hope to see some of them at the County finals. This year, the Federation Finals will be played on Sunday 23 July at Whittlesey Manor.  The green is looking and bowling very well, a very dry April didn’t help, but as usual, our groundsman has manicured the rinks to perfection.  Yaxley are having their open triples competition this year on Monday 17 July, if you would like to enter a team, £15 entry fee, please contact Kathy Browning (tel: 241967). Yaxley Infant School continues to be a ‘Good’ school

We had a brilliant start to the term with our Ofsted letter being officially published. Although we knew the outcome the same day, we were not permitted to share the result until the letter had been quality assured by Ofsted. We were all delighted with the letter which confirms that Yaxley Infant School continues to be a ‘good’ school. The Inspector who visited for the day commented on many positive things. Here are some of the highlights: Pupils at Yaxley Infant school are impeccably well behaved. They communicate well with each other and are mindful of the importance of...
